Experience
As a child, my goals and ambitions were to become a successful businesswoman. I graduated from Beijing Union University with a bachelor's degree in International Business. Then, I came to New York at Queens College. It was there that my dream changed when I discovered that I had a talent for tutoring. I decided I wanted to become a teacher. I currently reside in Linden, New Jersey, and teach Chinese at Livingston Chinese School to students ranging from grade five all the way up to grade twelve. Additionally, I also offer tutoring services to those learning Mandarin Chinese. I incorporate my own experiences into my tutoring lessons. I enjoy sharing with my students how I have overcome obstacles when learning a new language. I feel as if this helps enrich their own learning experiences. Other tutoring techniques I use include selecting unique topics to capture my students' attention and referencing the interests of the student. I utilize a variety of teaching methods, which I select on an case-by-case basis.When I have free time, I like to travel. Other interests of mine outside of work include playing tennis, reading, and swimming.
